What Should You Put In Your Juices For Optimal Weight Loss?

Creating fresh juice isn’t as complicated as you might think. There are tons of juicing recipes online, but you can also create your own.

For speedy weight loss, it is recommended that you limit fruits to less than 20% of your entire juice. When you juice fruits, you are losing most of the fiber but squeezing out all of the fructose. In juice form, the fructose becomes highly concentrated and you can easily end up consuming a lot of sugar and calories. For weight loss, that is not good.

If you’d like your juice to have sweetness, put in a pinch of stevia powder, which is an excellent and safe natural sweetener with zero calories. By adding sweetness with stevia powder, you can easily drink pure vegetable juices (without any fruit) which will be lower in calories and sugar.

Try to include some dark, leafy vegetables such as kale, spinach, and collard greens in every serving, as they have a high concentration of nutrition including iron, magnesium, calcium, potassium, and vitamins B, C and E.

Juicing Recipes For Weight Loss

Here are some great easy juicing recipes for weight loss that you can try out. The first 3 do not have any fruit in them, but will have sweetness from the carrot and any stevia you decide to put in.

Whenever you juice, you typically need 1 or 2 vegetables that have a lot of water content in them. Those provide the bulk of the liquid. Good examples are celeries, zucchinis, and cucumbers.

You can mix and match the ingredients below to find the taste that you like. Below ingredients typically taste good and are easy to prepare. As you get used to juicing, you can experiment with different ingredients.

For example, you can add different herbs or sprinkle grated raw ginger on top of your juice for greater health benefits.

Pure Vegetable Juicing Recipes (for 1 serving)

Zucchini Power

2 handfuls of spinach
2 kale leaves
1 zucchini
1 medium sized carrot
Stevia to taste

Cucumber Punch

A handful of spinach
6 kale leaves
1 cucumber
1 celery stalk
1 medium sized carrot
Stevia to taste

Celery Kick

2 handfuls of spinach
3 collard leaves
A small handful of parsley
3 celery stalks
1 medium sized carrot
Stevia to taste

Vegetable and Fruit Juicing Recipes (for 1 serving)

Tip: A hard fruit is easier to juice.

Apple and Greens

A handful of spinach
6 kale leaves
2 celery stalks
1/2 apple
Stevia to taste

Pear Delight

3 collard leaves
2 celery stalks
3 heads bok choy
1 pear
Stevia to taste

Pineapple Splash

3 romaine leaves
1 cucumber
1 celery stalk
1 slice of pineapple
Stevia to taste

Juicing Tips

  • Whenever you have vegetables and fruits that you know you won’t be eating, juice them!
  • Drink your juice no more than 30 minutes after you make it. The fresher the juice is, the better it is for your body. As soon as the juice comes out, it will be packed full of raw nutrients. As the juice is exposed to air, it will start to get oxidized (damaged).
  • Although it’s best to drink the juice immediately, you can still get the nutritional benefits if you store the juice in an airtight container, ideally in a refrigerator, and drink it within 24 hours.
  • You can use the pulp that comes from the foods you juice. You can either put some of the pulp in your juice, or use them as ingredients in another dish. There are tons of recipes that include these such as putting them in muffins and cookies. The best part is that you won’t be wasting anything from the foods.
  • A spoonful of low fat plain yogurt and fresh juice in the blender can make a great thick smoothie. You can also add in ice if you want something refreshing when the weather outside is hot.
  • You can juice citrus fruits such as oranges with the peel, but you may not like the taste since the pith (the white part) can make your juice bitter. You may also want to peel apples that have wax on their surface.
  • Rinse the juicer parts immediately after juicing. This will reduce any risk of mold/bacteria growth on the parts.

    Thank you for an interesting article. I have been juicing for a couple of years now and can see the benefits. Actually the first time I juiced I knew that I had something good for me. I felt much better, my thinking was clearer and I had more energy. I appreciate your tips and may I add that when juicing fruit you can add not only ice, but also sparkling water. Try it!     i was wondering if you can use frozen fruits and veggies??

      I did a little research for you on the web, and the opinions vary. Some say frozen produce is as good as fresh produce, while other says that fresh produce is more nutritious than frozen produce.

      I would not use frozen produce to juice. You can touch and check fresh produce at the supermarket. With frozen produce you have no idea how good the produce looked like before it got processed and frozen.

      My recommendation, find a good and affordable place with fresh and organic produce and make juices based on what is in season. That should keep the juicing expenses in line, and you know for certain that you have a high quality juice that is not only helpful in losing weight but also in providing your body with a ton of valuable nutrients.
